Honestly, there were a few different reasons why I joined Osano. There’s never just one reason, but the main one is culture. I wouldn’t have been able to transition to a new workplace if the culture wasn’t at least comparable to the company I was at previously, and it was!
Here’s what I mean: Osano’s culture is welcoming and open to new ideas — I know I can talk to leadership, and they'll actively listen and consider what I have to say. There’s also a focus on DEI, which is near and dear to my heart. And I was ready to return to the excitement and possibility of the startup world.
And I was excited about working for a Public Benefit Corporation and a B Corp. It felt like Osano was trying to do some good in the world, and I wanted to be part of that.
As a senior content strategist, I’m in charge of planning out all of the content we produce — in fact, I planned this blog series. I ensure we’re on top of the latest information and trends to help keep our audience informed and educated about data privacy.
I accidentally stumbled upon content strategy early in my career. I started as a communications manager not long after college, managing everything from social media and entertainment to press releases and media relations. Another big part of my role was writing articles for external publications. I took this knowledge with me as I joined a content marketing agency, initially focusing on being an editor before transitioning to the work I do now.
Acting as Osano’s senior content strategist pulls me into a role where I can supervise all of the content across one company versus managing a portion with a client or a department.
I wanted to be part of doing something for the greater good. I’m also a product of my generation — a millennial who grew up when we didn’t know much about data privacy and how it would impact our lives, so I’m excited for the opportunity to learn.
Authenticity + Inclusion.
I am a queer white woman married to a woman of color. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are part of my daily experience, so any company I work for must focus on them. I’m glad they’re part of Osano’s core values.
I love writing, reading, watching movies and television shows (mostly Marvel), taking care of my bunnies, and exploring new places. I love traveling especially, and I enjoy kayaking when the time is right.
Frankly, I loved the team trip to New Orleans — not only because I got to meet so many of my coworkers in person, but also because it was engineered in a way that we also got to explore the city to the fullest.
